How do I reset my bluetooth device?

Bluetooth device was paired with Phone A. Phone A then died. Bluetooth device will now not pair with any new device, because Phone A never... ended the relationship. Is there anything I can do to "reset" the Bluetooth device to allow it to pair with a new phone? Or do I just have to buy a new Bluetooth device? Phone A is dead. Totally and completely dead. Not just battery. Thanks!
 
It depends if it is of a higher quality it will work for other devices too. For example I've used a Samsung BT headset for a Samsung Galaxy mini, my Samsung phone gone dead but my BT headset works well on an HTC Desire HD.
