how do u program a universal remote to a blue ray player?

I have a magnavox universal remote and a remoteless blue ray player. how do i program it to the blurray player
 
Locate the codes for your BluRay manufacturer. Try those codes to see if the Blu ray player repsonds by turning on or off. If not, you may need a more recently made Universal Remote. The ones that have the 4 colored buttons will most likely be updated and can control blu ray players. Older universal remotes may not work or operate blu ray players so if the first suggestion doesn't work, you may beed to purchase a newer remote.
