How do you feel about the growing trend of parents spoiling their kids these days?

When I was a kid and I received the same happy meal toy I got last time I was told by my mom that, "that's how McDonald's works sometimes, you can't always get what you want and you should be thankful that you got anything at all." My mom would explain nicely ONE TIME, and I knew that the next time would be me getting yelled at and cursed out, and then if I continued to throw a temper tantrum I'd get my @ss beat (a severe spanking, not a punch in the face 'cause that'd be abuse). So whenever I went to McD's and got the same toy I'd shrug it off like, "oh ok, whatever".

Not kids these days, I worked at McDonald's for two years and saw lots of spoiled, crying-@ss kids complaining about how they got the same happy meal toy at home, and the mother's like... "sweetie they don't have that toy in stock they ran out, ssshhh.... I'll take you to Toy's R Us after McDonald's just please be good for mommy ok".

So nowadays to keep everybody satisfied, employees at McD's bring out the toy bin and let the kids pick out what toy they want. Then pray that the kid picking out a toy finds something that they like, 'cause if not it's somehow the employee's fault for the happy meal not being happy enough. LoL

The McDonald's thing is one of many examples of witnessing spoiled kids, but what is your opinion on the subject, people of Y.A.?
