How do you make an LG enV Octane show Message Delivered icon?

I recently bought the LG enV Octane & when I send a message to another Verizon WIreless sender, it will not show a Message Delivered icon. I have called Customer Services & they have said there may be a button to press; but i've done research & I am unable to find a key or button to press to show that icon. I know the icon insists, because it is in my icon glossary under my tools&settings menu. Please comment any helpful information. Thank-you.

Make sure on the phone, Message Settings, 14. Delivery Receipt is set to ON.

The workaround, pending having the problem fixed in the software, is to open a message showing the Message Sent icon, press the Options button, scroll to 6. Message Info(either one press of the up arrow, or 5 presses of the down arrow), press OK, scroll down to [Status] and look at the next line. It will say Delivery Successful if the message was delivered. This takes time but beats removing and reinstalling the battery to get the message status icon to change to the Message Delivered icon!
