How do you manage the torrents you create and the file they refer to on your disk?

Hi all,

First question ever on the site! Used it a while for prewritten answers, but this one, I havent yet found anything on the internet...

So as we know creating torrents is a joke, as so is publishing them. But in order for people to get them,

1) Do I need to leave the .torrent file in my downloading folder?
2) Do the files to which it refers to have to be in the (downloading or as stated in the torrent creation) folder?
3) Can I move the files it refers to?

Let's say I download in hd:downloads and that my files are in hd:files. Does it matter where the .torrent is? What if I wanna move the files from hd:files to hd:otherfolder after that?

I'm kind of lost. Especially since the .torrent is only tracker links... So the trackers need the whole package with the files? Any help welcome.

Thanks all,

JL
