T Technobuff New member Nov 22, 2009 #5 Measurement of statistical temperatures are done in the shade, in an open area, in a specifically sized and ventilated enclosure at a set height above ground and over grass. If you put a thermometer direct in sun, it will read too high. 4 fits best.
