how long is an average introduction for a university paper?

i have about 14 lines (210 words). i cut it down from about 300 words. should i continue cutting it down?
 
no min-max. just have enough content. but contradicting what i said, atleast 8 sentences is ideal
 
It honestly depends how long your paper is going to be. If its a short paper like 4-6 pages then a paragraph should do. If its a longer research paper then you can have a longer intro. Don't worry so much about word count and lines as information. Don't repeat yourself but be sure to get your point across.
