How much oil do I put in my '02 Honda Accord 4 cylinder coupe?

I checked the dipstick two days ago, and the oil mark was RIGHT on the bottom dot, so I know I need to add some. Today was my first chance to go to the auto store and get some, so it's probably a little lower by now. I live in Florida and it's a freaking sauna out here, so I'm letting it sit with the hood up for a few hours to cool off. After that, I need to know how much oil I need or should add. A friend suggested 1/2 qt and then see how it measures out. I only bought one quart [5-W20]. Would it be safe to just dump the whole bottle in there at once? I won't over fill will I? I know over filling is a REALLY bad thing and can cause leaks and seals to bust. Anyways, just let me know. Thanksss!!! :D
 
just put a little bit in at a time and keep checking it until it shows it,s full.
 
1/2 quart usually form the add mark. Use the dipstick to get level 3/4 ways to full. If you dump the whole quart in it will probably be overfull. Usually a little overfull doesn't hurt anything, but i recommend using dipstick and not overfilling.
