How much power does a Blu-Ray DVD player suck up?

My family leaves our DVD player on all the time and I want to show them just how much power we're wasting. Any links to support your answers would be awesome. Thanks

Here is a site ranking the power consumption of blue ray/hd dvd players

At the back/bottom of your player there is a little label that says what is the maximum power consumption (Like 220V AC, 50 Watts).

However, when the player is idle (no disc spinning, no video output) it barely consumes 1-2 Watts. Your player's user guide may list both idle and full power consumption.
