How to bypass Copyright protection to copy movie from TV to DVD recorder?

I own a Sony RDR- GX257....... and it sucks
I just want to record a movie they are showing on TV and it won't let me, says the TV movie is copyright protected.
This is a DVD recorder, a box sitting next to my TV. I don't know how to hook it up to a computer or if it can have a software download.
Is there any way this recorder can record a movie showing on my TV.
Any way I could split the cable line or something so I can record?
 
hello some models of dvd recorders wont let u record copyright movies on like hbo or max!!!!!!! might not be your recorder!!!!!
