I'm refereeing my first game this weekend, and I got an email from the soccer association to try and observe a moment of silence before all games on 9/11, but that you can't FORCE it. It also said there aren't specific instructions and to use discretion. The game is U8 so it's all little kids. Do I ask the coaches? Also any advice on your first time refereeing? Thanks. If it makes a difference I live and work in NY minutes from NYC so I really think a moment of silence is important. A moment of silence is one minute right?
