the problem i have is it says it is unsupported on the screen when it is connected.

is there a way to fix this problem or is it just not compatible with my sumovision divx player.

The most likely problem, my friend, is the format used on the hard drive. It's, most likely, formatted using NTFS specifications, but needs to be formatted using FAT32 specifications.

The bad news is, to change from NTFS to FAT32 you need to format the hard drive, and this means that you WILL lose all the data that's on there.

Check with the instruction manual for your DivX DVD player to see if what I'm saying is correct.

Do you want some more bad news? You're going to need to use a third party application to format your external hard drive to FAT32 as Windows applies some sort of limit on the size of hard drive that it can format using FAT32.

The following programme is a FREE piece of software but, I'm afraid, as far as I'm aware, it doesn't work with Windows 7. (You'll need to check this out for yourself. The website states that it's only available for Windows 2000, XP and Vista 32-bit.
