I just got a new pup. I want to feed him the raw diet. I am not sure how to process the food. We have chickens and rabbits. I also have a large pond that I can fish for perch daily. I have read about the raw diet and understand that a variety of food needs to be fed. I am certain that I will not be able to butcher my rabbits but I know I can butcher the chickens.
What do I do? Do I pull the feathers off like I would if we were going to eat it? Do I have to gut it?
Also if I did decide to process rabbits would I have to skin them? I would have huge issues feeding my dog animals that I could recognize.
Are perch and sunfish safe for dogs?
Any help you can give would be great. I do understand the controversies of the raw diet.
