How to put music on my cell phone? (Sprint LG Muziq)?

I just got the LG muziq for sprint the other day and I bought the usb cable that goes with it.
I keep trying to put music and photos on the phone but it won't even go on there?
I tried using the usb on my computer but it says that my computer doesn't read the hardware ( I guess my computer's too old) so I use my cousins laptop.
When I plug the usb into the computer the phone asks you what you want to do? and I click the sunc music button or whatever, then I transfer the mp3 files from my computer to my phone, it looks like it's transferring but when I unhook the usb and go to my music folder nothing is there but the songs i bought from the sprint music store.
the same thing happened with my photos.
I'm kind of still confused when it comes to this phone, any help?

you gotta install the software driver do you have a disc? if so put the disc in and install it otherwise google the phones name and add software driver :) hope it helps

Well umm you can use bluetooth and ask your friends if they have the song you want and exchange music.
