Trying to get an Ethernet connection set up at my house and my MacBook Pro isn't able to connect to the internet. Its recognizing the modem just fine, but the internet isn't actually connected. I'm using an Ethernet cable, not a USB connection as well. The 'send' light is flashing with the manual told me means 'The send channel is lost'. I have no idea how to fix this.

Troubleshooting sites and instructions tell me to reset the modem by pressing a button on the back panel, but I can't find the button they're talking about.

I'm REALLY not tech-savvy and I hope I'll be able to get some help with this.

Usually to reset the modem, you just power it off for 10 seconds, then power it back on. If it still doesn't work, try giving your Mac a static IP address. Plug the ethernet cable into a computer that can get to the internet (if you have one) then open the command prompt on the PC or Mac (not sure if Mac has one or not) then type ipconfig /all. Write down the IPv4 address, default gateway, subnet mask, and DNS severs. Then go to your Mac and plug it in and statically enter the IP address.

Hope this helps!
