How to stay interested in the same family in the Sims 3?

I think I'm addicted to adopting pets (Horses, to be exact). So they just end up being part of the scenery and I'm sick of it. I'm always wanting my sims to have babies and then I want them to die and the babies to have more babies. Frustrating!!! How can I make myself stop and just enjoy the game?

Have you considered visiting ModTheSims and finding a challenge that you like, and applying that to your game?

There are ones that are specific to legacies. There's the usual legacy one, and then if you search through, there are ones that are stricter like a 'Victorian style' legacy where no one is allowed to leave the house on Sunday, females aren't allowed to leave the house without a male escort etc.

I'll link you below, but I think if you just give yourself a challenge, then you'll be able to keep interest.

Create really ugly and bad-personality people, make them reproduce and have fugly babies, and insult everyone you meet and do things that aren't socially acceptable and become a criminal.
