How to stop a school rumor {{read entire post}}?

At my school, there is this kid named Jason, who isn't really that cool *kinda a nerd no offense*. So these two girls in my class, Kara and Heather, were being mean to him and teasing him about never having a gf, so they always say to him "iloveyou" just to be mean to him. So then in history class he starts crying and then says "Shut Up! It's Not Funny Anymore!". So then he leaves the room at the end of the period, crying, and people ask me, Kara, and Heather why he is crying. Kara says she doesn't know, that she and Heather didn't do anything. So then on AIM, my friend ims me and says "we need to talk", and she says "I heard from a reliable source that you made Jason cry" so I'm like WTF, no I didn't!". And she's like "That's not what I heard..",so I ask her who stared the rumor, and she just signs off, only saying "IDK bye". What should I do? I know I shouldn't care about a gay ass rumor, but it pisses me off that someone would mix up a story :[
Oh yeah, and after history class, he said he hates Kara and Heather, but isn't mad at me(:
But I played no part in being mean to him.

I hate when people pick on other just because of stupid things like dating or social status... I mean.. Jason is nice and all *kind of weird* but nice, and he didn't do anything to them :(
 
The compnay you keep says a lot about you. If you are friends with these two mean teasing girls, then you too can expect to be thought of as mean and teasing.

I suggest you take a break from them and look for different pals.
