How to switch from Verizon to ATT Wireless & keep the same number? Is it possible?!?

Okay I actually lost my Verizon wireless blackberry curve and I need to get a new one, I was wondering if I would be able to switch to AT&T and keep the same number? Is this possible and how would I do it since I no longer have my old phone

Bring your Verizon statement to AT&T. They should be able to port your number.
