How well does the music player on the samsung mythic work? can i use it like an ipod?

i am planning on buying the phone but also want to use it as my mp3 player. to reduce the amount of things i have to carry around. those of you that have it let me know
 
the phone comes with a program PC Studio it allows you to tranfer music from your computer to the phone fairly easy.
