I have a fear of heights too and symphasise! I flew several times last year after previously avoiding it for many years.
the only advice that i can give you is to have a friend with you. it really is not that bad. when you fly at night it just seems like you are on a coach or train!
avoid alcohol, it really does not help! and sit in an aisle seat.
i would not use sleeping pills as the trip for spain wouldnt be long enough for them anyway.
i still get nervous on the build up to a holiday but i think you will be suprised at how enjoyable it actually is!
have a good time and enjoy the flight!!!!!

I am going on holiday to spain but I live in Dublin Ireland and I am afraid of heights and because I have to get on a plane that goes miles up into the sky you can see why i am afraid of heights.. is their anything I can get to help me with the flight?

Just remember the fact that more people are killed by donkeys each year than planes crashing :P

Actually - it shouldn't really affect you if you don't think about it too much !

Ask for an aisle seat - that way you're not tempted to look out of the window. You could ask your doctor for a mild tranquiliser to calm you down before the flight.

The flight time from Dublin to Spain isn't that long - around two hours I think ! Take a book to read if it will help take your mind off things.

Good luck with it anyway !
