my tv straight from my laptop? my tv doesnt have a hdmi port, that s why i bought the hdmi dvd player. how can i watch movies on my tv from my laptop without getting a new tv? i bought a hdmi cable and tried hooking it up with the dvd player, but nothing worked.
 
Your TV needs an input from the computer, via monitor cable or video and audio cables, or convert monitor cable to video/audio cables into tv.
