...some would have proof by encounter? That is, assume for a moment that there are many Christians who would say, "I know that God exists because I have had an encounter with God." (Indeed, I've met many USA Christians who say they know God from their daily experience.)
Now certainly it is possible that some people might have personal experiences involving an entity (such as a god) while others do not. Therefore, while such a PROOF might not be sufficient proof for EVERYONE, surely such a basis could be a sufficient proof for THEM. After all, why should an individual who claims to KNOW GOD be expected to deny their "personally revealed truth" just because -- assume for the moment -- that God has not initiated such a personal encounter with EVERYONE?
After all, isn't this CARL SAGAN'S POINT IN HIS SCREEN PLAY for the movie CONTACT?
