Finally - someone who has common sense and doesn't want to be cited for law breaking noisy exhaust !!! Go to any decent muffler shop and have them install the stock type exhaust...and thanks for your courtesy :}

you can add extra mufflers if you want. what are the mufflers that are on it.must be high performance.what you replace the one/s you have with may inhibit operation.go to a parts store and talk to a clerk.look at some pic in a search.if your trying to hide the F A S T good luck.

...it quiet? Im pretty sure its the muffler making all the noise so i was wondering if there was a cheap fix to this

I have a 2000 Pony and the exhaust system is stainless steel. You may need a new muffler or it may have a hole in it that you could patch with Bondo or solder. Don't let a shop tell you that you need any new pipes. They are stainless and will be there forever.

But you buy a mustang to be loud and fast. But there is no cheap way to fix it, because your gonna have to replace the mufflers either way. And if you simply cut off the muffler, then it will be even louder.

Look at the exhaust system of a lincoln towncar, big engine, quiet car. Model your system after that.

Does it have 2 exhaust pipes in the back? Is there a badge that says GT or a coiled snake on the side of the car? If yes, then that means your car has a V8 engine, and it's supposed to be loud. You may have noticed the car accellerates really quickly when you hit the gas. No, it's not broken, it's supposed to do that!
If you want a silent car, buy a hybrid or electric car. Mustangs make noise; most buyers think that's a good thing.
