to power my 6x9's? I have 2 x 300 W 6x9 speakers. I have a 4x50 car stereo. Is this enough to power my 6x9's?
If this is not enough to power this, what specifications for a car stereo should i be looking for?
I am not bothered about connecting any other speakers just the 2 6x9's.
I am not looking to spend a great deal of money, and want to avoid buying an amp. Unless my driving experience is going to be severely impaired. haha ;P

Can you explain in detail.
Because i am completely unsure.

Your speakers should play very well. Hooking up an amp is possible, but overkill.

First of all, your head unit (where you put the CDs in, that the 'face' comes on and off of, in your Dash) is measured at PEAK watts. RMS watts are your concern.

you are at 4x50 PEAK watts. That is almost exactly 25 Watts RMS.

(Your factory radio would have been like 4x30 watts PEAK. So yeah, the aftermarket head unit plays better.)

Your 6x9s can handle all that PEAK power. They will play very clean and sound Great. You basically do not even need Subwoofers, they mostly rattle the car. And those need an Amp. (People hook Amps up to Factory radios, but I never liked that set-up.)

I dont want to get to ointo detail here, but especially if it is an Alpine unit (The Best, factory equipment on Ferraris) it will make them sound good.

Especially if your 6x9s are the Blue Alpine S-line. (The red R-line is even better, but they are so rare and the S-line is so good you should just get S, unless you are a perfectionist with much money.)
