I have an wifi network hooked up to my router but it doesn't reach my house (in the backyard) if i buy another wifi network could it work?

Well the only way you can connect wirelessly is by connecting to a hotspot or using a router. If you have a router then sure you can connect using WiFi.

ethernet does not equal cable. In order to get Wifi in your house you'd need a wifi router hooked up to your network.
