I have the enV2 with Rhapsody, do i need the software to put music on my cell?

I don't want to pay for the software unless I have to. I can put my memory card into my computer, but when i drag the music into the "My Music" folder, and then put my card back into my cell to see if it worked, the music doesn't show up. Does this mean that I need the software or do i need to do something differently?
