I just started taking a kempo class?

for one of my college classes i started to take a kempo class. its like a tae kon doe class. adn this guys serious about it. i saw the muscles the girl he had there and im scared to get manly looking muclmusclesm taking it for the semester even tho i guess this girl has done if for lieklikeears....will this make me loose any weight if im serious about it? i have it on mondays and wendsdays. for an hour and a half every day...or would this just start to make me be in shape cuz as i understand you get in shape then sculpt
 
I couldnt tell you but you know what they say, the bigger they are the easier it is to out source them. Generally why a good few fights win cause its about thinking an not showing off.

You do not get big muscles by studying martial arts. If someone has big muscles they likely got them lifting weights.

Kempo has many different styles. I have no idea what kind of kempo you are referring to. But in any case it has nothing in common with Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do is Korean. Kempo can be from China, Okinawa, Japan, Hawaii, and there is an American version. Kempo is sometimes spelled as Kenpo.

You will likely get some benefit for getting in shape. But martial arts are not about getting or being in shape(unless you plan to fight in competition). Martial arts are and should be first and foremost about self-defense. Competition and getting in shape are just possibilities not requirements. You do not have to be in good shape to defend yourself.
