...college, or army? 16 years old, experienced in Muay thai kickboxing for 1 year. About to enroll in jiu jitsu, and i'm in an under ground fight club. I love fighting. It started in third grade when i wrestled with my friends all the way up to 5th...I left wrestling for awhile. Came back as a freshman learning the art muay thai. I go to the gym 2-3 hours a day. I have a friend (body builder) who helps me with my lifting. I love mma, i know the basic jiu jitsu submissions, and i love everything about it...The only problem is that my grades have dramatically decreased this year to F's and D's.. I love learning, i just like learning when i'm truly motivated but school has just stopped being a motivation for me. I've talked to my mom about either joining the Army or going into Mma after highschool. She thinks its insane, and my dad will think that also. But school is not my passion in life. Everyone plans to go to college. Its a future that i don't want to pursue, just having to learn, then go out and get a job, and then get money, have a family and die. I'd rather have passion that i love doing, making a little money here and there. But, if i don't go Pro in mma (which is hard to do of course) then the Army is my second choice. Any constructive criticism or support from anyone? Any ideas or opinions? Help of having to tell parents plans after highschool.. Thanks
