I am looking for a good dvd ripper for my personal collection. I am trying to put around 1200 dvds on my HTPC and cant find a good program. Also i would like some suggestions on which format would be best to rip the file into. I have 5.5 TB's on my hard drive but would still like decent quality when the movie is played back in Media Center. Any help would be appreciated.

sounds like someones getting into piracy.

try using a program called handbrake. as for format? that depends if you want to sacrifice quality for small size, i usually stick with avi format, simply because its good all around.

Nero Burning ROM fulfills all your needs. It is a versatile, reliable, and comprehensible application that is designed to write both data and CD audio to CD-R and CD-RW discs. It works with number of optical disc image formats, including the ISO image.

Adding on, it also supports multisession and mixed-mode recording, HFS, ISO/HFS hybrid, UDF, PSX, OFAS, TAO and DAO writing, digital audio extraction, and more.

I prefer dvdfab for ripping dvd... If you wanna keep the decent quality, I recommend you to rip them to H.264 AVI.. dvdfab supports that..
Maybe you should take 2 minutes to check out this YouTube tutorial teaching you how to get the work done nicely step by step~~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVpL4fAY_yc
