I need a good sci-fi book right away!?

I need a really interesting sci-fi book and it needs to be good because i need to finish it and I know I wont finish if its a bad book.
 
I just watched a movie: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I came from a book by Douglas Adams.
