I've downloaded a few torrents and want to reach a 1:1 download/upload ratio, as is proper in the community. The problem is that not enough people are downloading for that to happen. On torrents where there's plenty of demand, I've been able to go above that ratio without too much difficulty, for example on the new Jolicloud linux disto I've got a 1.4 ratio. On others with little demand, I have terrible ratios, like 0.09 or 0.04. These torrents have been seeding on and off for weeks (probably a few days worth of uptime) without any upload limits. I don't want to leave this running for months just to reach a ratio. I had plenty of download speed when I got them in the first place so it looks like there are already too many seeders and not enough demand - what do I do? Should I keep them there until I hit that ratio or just remove the torrent after a while, I'm not going to seed forever!
These are torrents of open source software (like openoffice, ubuntu) created by someone else. None of this is pirated software.
