I would love some feedback on my "statement of research interests" for grad school?

Provide a Statement of Interest with following:
** List five key words that best describe your research interest.
** Describe your interest in the Graduate Program in Geography.
** Outline your previous research training, experience (field work, practical experience) and publication history.
** Describe your training and work experience (non university related) since you entered university, including travel.

Five key words to describe my research interests are adaptation, sustainability, development, conservation, and policy. In other words, I intend to research the relationship between humans and the environment, environmental change and adaption, sustainable development, sustainable economies, resource management in developing nations, conservation, and policy and governance.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology with a minor in biology from XXX University and I am currently taking courses at YYYY University. Many topics in my courses included environmental concepts, in particular the relationship between humans and the environment. My biology minor also included two field courses; one collecting fossils in ZZZZ, the other focused on local diversity and biogeography of flora. I was Vice-President of the Museum Club, where I gave tours, researched, wrote and translated manuscripts, and updated the Biodiversity exhibit. Last year, I began a Graduate Diploma in Public Relations Management, which emphasizes communications and decision-making. While science communications is something I am interested in, at this time I want to fulfill my research interests in science and arts and to specialize in geography and environmental studies.

My education in anthropology, biology, communications and now geography has given me interdisciplinary experience and interest in the processes that shape our world from physically and culturally. I have a special interest in Latin America, having studied the region in my courses and traveling through Mexico and Costa Rica. After graduation I spent some time volunteering in Peru, then several months traveling through Peru, Bolivia and Chile. I had the great opportunity to interact with locals, see rainforests, trek the Andes, and visit many coastal areas among other things. I’ve also had the chance to travel to Cuba, Morocco, China, as well as many places in Europe and North America. Needless to say, what I experienced in my travels has inspired me to pursue studies in geography.

I hope to bring my academic background, along with my international experience, to my graduate research. The Geography and Environmental Studies program at AAAA University would allow me to work with a faculty member currently working on a project related to my interests regarding the human dimensions of global environmental change. I intend on answering questions regarding what environmental change means for sustainable development, sustainable economies, and resource management, including in regards to conservation and ecotourism, especially in coastal regions in the developing nations of Latin America and Asia. One specific area of interest would be the role of marine protected areas and their impact on sustainable economies and resource management, and conservation of coastal and marine habitat in light of global change, or a related topic.

Anything you would add, take out, change? (It has to be underl 500 words, its 440 words at the moment.)
