If I torrent diablo 2, can I use a legit unactivated cd key to play battle.net?

So I torrented diablo 2 .isos from the pirate bay.. When I run setup, can I use a legit cd key that has never been activated to play on battle.net? Of course I have the game, and was just torrenting a copy.. I'm just not sure of the whereabouts of the CD :)
The setup asks for a 16bit key, but I have a 26bit one for battle.net.. how does this work? :/
