from home, am I responsible? My 13 year old son was at my sisters home and was riding his bike when he got distracted by a car that was speeding. He hit the car and left a scratch. I was at work, and had no idea of what happened. Am I responsible? I live in California and my son is 13.
To the 3rd answerer.. maybe your child is a lier but mine is not. He is the only one out of 6 kids that confessed to hitting the car that was parked on the side walk where he was riding. The other kids lied and he thought he would tell the truth and take responsibility. Anyway, that was not the question... the question is who is responsible.. now go have a talk with your child that lies too much and stop answering questions based on your terrrible child.
I'm hoping to read a response from someone who knows the law.. not just guessing..
