...deal if you use a heavier lure? none of them are really that heavy it seems like it would be harmless to use a heavier lure than your suppose too, but i might be wrong so can someone please make this clear to me.

Also, if i have a medium power/ moderate fast action rod would it hurt to use live finger mullet?
 
The reason they designate rods with an "average lure weight" size is to give you an idea what the possible breaking, cracking, snapping strength COULD be.

You could probably get away throwing up to a 1 1/2 -2 OZ weight and not notice , but any heavier and the possiblity of breaking your rod increases.

Your Car tires have a suggested amount of air in them, don't you abide the suggestions????
