inspiring famous people?

in my mind, ordinary everyday people are the true inspirations, such as police and firefighters. however, for school, i need to do a presentation on someone inspiring that people know about . i thought of doing Nikki Reed [actress] because she had an adolescence full of drugs, sex, and crime, but managed to overcome all of it through writing about it, which later turned into a movie [Thirteen] . any other suggestions ?
 
I heard of this guy from a nickelback video.

I don't know about you. But I find that pretty inspiring.

Lady Gaga- Ever since she was a kid, she was shoved into lockers because she was a "freak" and had an obscenely large nose, which made her the perfect target for bullying. But, she overcame all of that through her music.
