Interesting greek gods, animals, folk lore, stories, etc that would be a good topic

for a lyric poem??? Help!? I have to write 2 lyric poems for my english class. i was hoping to do at least one extended metaphor. But my teacher loves creativity. she doesn't want an every day comparison. I wrote about a student who compared her senior year to a dark cave and emerging in light on the top of a mountain. she said it was too common. she wants something really unique. are there any really interesting greek gods or anything? she said something about Sisyphus but considering she gave the example, i cant use it :[ I need something that i can relate to in some way but i'm desperate bc i dont know anything about greek gods and folk lore and stuff like that. it doesnt even have to be that stuff, just something interesting that no one really knows about.

this is a really big grade and its English 12 AP so i really need to nail these poems! thanks for the help!
