Business is by far the most popular major for US undergraduates. It is generally not the most academically challenging major and it sounds a lot more useful for post-graduate employment than it actually is.
If you really enjoy business classes and the jobs you are considering for after college require that major, go for it. However you'll have a lot more options if you pick a less popular, more specialized degree like (regular) economics, accounting or finance.

No, a business degree is not a joke, but there are tons of people with them so it does not make you stand out of a crowd. A finance degree is good for what you want to do. Try sitting for the CPA exam after you finish school.
