Is Clarion a good car stereo brand?

Specifically, I'm thinking to buy the Clarion CZ501. How does it compare to Sony in sound quality, features and durability? My other strong option is the Sony MEX-BT3900U. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

PS. I'm also considering the JVC KD-R810.

Clarion make below average to decent headunits, but terrible speakers! Alpine and Pioneer and my recommended choice for headunits, but Pioneer would be better as it is better value for money!
