Is it a big deal if a guy introduces you to his family and his friends?

Guys, do you only introduce girls who you are seriously interested in to these important people in your life?
 
Most of the time it is considered to be important for a guy to introduce his new girlfriend to his family, because most guys that arent going to really mess with you don't want you involved in their family life. But i guess it depends on the situation, and how close he and his family are. If they are not especially close, or it was just kind of a coincidence for you to meet them (they came to the house while you were there, ran into them at the grocery store) it might not be saying much. I would just ask him. Good luck :0)
