is it possible to become a hollywood actor without going to acting school?

could someone get a break who has no previous acting experience or studies?
 
It has been done. A certain actor (but I can't remember who) began as an extra and stepped in for someone who was ill and eventually became a fairly big name star.

You could become a child star as I'm sure Drew Barrymore was too young to be a drama student when she starred in ET.

Nowadays though casting directors wouldn't call anyone for an interviews unless they had either plenty of experience or the drama school credentials, I'm afraid.
 
it does happen, like someone who lives up my road, she jsut got asked to audition - never acted before - and she got the part in a film.

but yeah, they are very rare, get acting lessons etc,
 
i wish, i'm sure it's been done, but extremely rare. You either have to been amazing looking or a born skilled actor to be an actor with no training.
