I googled how to clean my rims (they have that grime lodged in the nooks and crannies that's impossible to get at without some heavy duty stuff) and one method I found was to use toilet bowl cleaner, and a 50% water 50% baking soda mix. They said to apply the toilet cleaner and scrub with a toothbrush for about 15-20 seconds and then rinse the acidic cleaner off with the neutralizing baking soda/water mix spray.
BUT
they were doing this on just polished aluminum rims. My aluminum rims are painted silver. Is this still ok to do? I don't want to take the finish off and have to repaint them.
