Is it true that the 3.01 update for PS3 will disable your Blue-Ray player?

I've read some bad reports about people's PS3 Blue-Ray player stopped working after the 3.01 update. I don't want that to happen to my PS3. Is it true that the 3.01 update causes the PS3 Blue-Ray to stop working?

Since I have installed the 3.01 system update on my 120gb PS3, I have not yet experianced any technical difficulties while playing video games, or watching Blu-ray or regular DVD movies.
