Since I hack (putting custom firmware) PSP's for my friends I was wondering if Jailbreaking is basicly putting custom firmware Since both devices use Official Firmware to Hack/Jailbreak.

Kind of. You arent really hacking though because the program has been made public. Anyone can do it and it really isnt complicated. It will void your warranty if you mess it up though. But you can always restore the device in itunes. Hackers were the people who made the program though, not those who use it.

They are not OFFICIAL firmware.

Official soft/firmware is licensed by Apple, and none of this sort of software is licensed by Apple.

That is why using them invalidates your warranty.
