Is my fitness routine good?

1. No junk food but a maybe a little at parties and such. 2. No more soda, only water, milk, and juice every once in a while. 3. Only eating until I start to feel full, no over eating. 4. Running a mile or however much four up and down the canal by my house is at least 3 times a week. 5.Ab, and upper body workouts that last about 10-20 minutes at least 5 times a week. 6. Healthy snacks when I get hungry. I don't think that I'm fat but 15 years old,I'm 5'3 and 129 Ibs. and I want to be a USCG Rescue Swimmer so I'm not going to get in shape just by sitting on the couch. So will this work? How can I improve this fitness routine? Thanks!
 
I like the sound of your plan. If possible, start swimming laps. Good Job!
 
make sure not to overwork your muscles when you are lifting upper body. i would extend your lifting time to about an hour but change it to 3 times a week and go every other day so you do not hurt your muscles. if you dont give them proper time to heal after liftinf (which normally takes around 48 hours) you can cause your muscles to shrink from tearing to much.
