I recently received a laptop for my birthday, and we do not have internet service at my house.
About two nights later I was able to connect to the internet. It's not like we're in a big city with lots of wi-fi hot spots, we live pretty far out in the country. I don't know if I was picking it up off a neighbor's router, but is it illegal.
My grandfather told me that using that internet access can crash your computer even if you have good antivirus software.
So could it crash my computer and is it illegal to do this?
Okay, a lot of you said that it's illegal, then why can people have routers if that kind of thing can happen? They buy the router, and yes they pay for the internet service, but isn't it their own fault for broadcasting their internet service?
