There are many, many similarities between drug use and religion. Drug addicts know drugs are bad for them, but they keep taking drugs, just like religious people know religion is nonsense, but they keep believing it anyway. Both drug users and religious people are aware of the consequences of their actions but they have the freedom to make a choice. Do you think society would be better if people were given the freedom to make a choice about drug use like they are given the freedom to make a choice about religion? If heroin was legal, would you pump that poison into your veins? I wouldn’t and I doubt any more than a minority would and that minority is always going to be there regardless of whether or not heroin is illegal. This is just like religion; there will always be a percentage of people who will believe in bogus myths and partake in ridiculous rituals regardless of whether or not it is illegal, right?

Comparing physical objects to immaterial beliefs is goofy. Sorry, this makes no sense...

I'm about 75% with you.
Religious belief us dumb, and drugs are fun, but they're kind of hard to compare. Christianity isn't as bad as herion, in the sense that as a percentage, more heroine users die more from their drug use than christians do for their faith.

There is a flaw to your logic:
Most religious people do not believe their religion is nonsense, unlike what you stated

Also, I believe if drugs are legalized, people will still abuse it, if not, to an even greater extent. Just look at cigarettes. We all know it's bad, even the smokers. We've all seen the black lungs on display, whether it's on TV, news articles or in science museum. But people still smoke regardless, and the only reason smoking is not being illegalized is because it's generating government lots of tax income. So if we do legalize drugs, the only good outcome is we can make some legit money out of it, but other than that, the abusers will still continue
