is the 1998 neon dodge a good car?

Neon's are basically the bottom feeder of the Dodge line and have never been put together very well. The early 90s Neon's had a huge problems with head gaskets and there was a big class-action lawsuit over it. They do get pretty good MPG but they are not really too safe and they are not very stable on the highway. Finding a Honda Civic in that same age range would be a much better buy. A Mazda 3 might also be a good option but I'd stay away from Toyota, Kia, and the small GM and Ford cars of that period.
