...demand for their real happiness? Both Karl Marx and feminists seem to think so. I wonder if the broad agreement between the two is coincidental.
Lucy: Please reference the numerous feminist attacks on Christianity: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Age.rcXW4arU4zVa8MCJUjAYxgt.;_ylv=3?qid=20090318123722AAxt6m0
The general agreement seems to be that religion somehow instills illusory beliefs into its adherents that result in a false sense of contentedness. After all, the true path is not religion, but the liberation of oneself from religion. That is, after all, the only way one can accept the immoral as moral.
Brandon F: It's a quote from Karl Marx. It basically says that true happiness can be given to people only by removing religion from them (which provides a fake happiness). Feminists are adamantly anti-Christian for this very reason. They see Christianity as antithetical to feminsim (and communism) and Christians as ignorant of the false happiness they are given. The feminist ideal is, of course, "the way" and to adopt that ideal, Christians must be converted. It's kind of like a covert Crusade.
Lucy: There is no shortage of anti-Christian feminist academic literature. Try the book "Hail Mary?".

Lucy: That is an absurd statement. You're saying that feminists don't despise Christianity....They just despise everything about it! OK!
