Is the Iphone 4 vodafone from Sydney, Australia going to work with

Rogers in Vancouver, Canada? I got an Iphone 4 coming 2 weeks from now from Australia. When its here, I'm going to buy a micro sim from Rogers and put it in the Iphone 4. Will it work here in Vancouver, Canada when I get it unlock? When i unlock it, can I still upgrade the software of the Iphone 4?
